the why
I have been a student of this sport for more than a decade. I have worked with and learnt from some great coaches for road and cyclocross. “The Why” of any session has always driven me to seek more knowledge and understanding. Whether you are turning yourself inside out, riding easy, or chilling on the couch you will know “The Why”. Knowledge is power and power equals watts.
I firmly believe that my journey on the bike is a critical element when it comes to coaching. It's what allows me to fully empathise with you. From work/life balance to crashes, injury, illness, to the mind games and mental fortitude required to hurt yourself repeatedly in training and racing, to the pressure to perform, to the stresses of a chaotic peloton, tackling a dangerous descent or a technical cx feature, even the nervousness of being “clipped in” for the first time, I have been in your shoes. Success and longevity depend on so much more than a training plan or your FTP.
